Our 8th graders have been investigating air pressure as part of their climate and weather unit! Students were challenged to equalize the 14.7 pounds of air pressure that the Earth’s surface naturally has to keep a notecard stuck under a cup of water after flipping it upside down. After a few attempts, students figured it out and some were able to keep the air pressure equalized for 9+ minutes! For the first time ever, MHS had three students attend the 10th Annual Robert J. Martin High School Forensic Accounting Competition this year! It was an exciting day with 30 teams competing. The FBLA club has been collaborating with Mayville Manufacturing and independent study graphic design student, Katelyn E., also an FBLA member, on expanding new offerings at the school store...the Cardinal's Nest! As spring sports are quickly approaching, the school store has sweatshirts, warm hats, soft cozy blankets, flannel pants and so much more. Our 7th and 8th grade Student Council walked down to MES to be "Big Buddies" with 1st graders in Mrs. Schwirtz's class. The bigs read with their new friends and worked on spring-themed coloring pages together. It was wonderful to see our student council members being leaders, and the littles were so excited to greet their guests!
