Mr Zarnott Receives COVID Vaccine

We are excited to announce that the Mayville School District, in partnership with Dodge County Public Health, has been able to offer a district-wide COVID-19 vaccination clinic onsite for all of our district staff. This includes our parochial school partners at St. John’s Lutheran School and St. Mary Catholic School in Mayville.

We had 130 educators and support staff attend the clinic and receive the first of the two-dose vaccine on Tuesday, March 9th. The second dose will be given at another onsite clinic on Tuesday, April 6th.

Due to the demands of scheduling vaccinations for all staff, the timing of the second clinic following a planned holiday break for students and staff, as well as a risk of side-effects related to the second dose of the Moderna vaccine, our Board of Education has approved calendar changes to reflect two additional days off for our students in April.

Both Tuesday, April 6th and Wednesday, April 7th will now be no school days for all of our public schools. There will be no virtual learning for our students either day. We will return to school on Thursday, April 8th.

Upcoming District-wide NO SCHOOL Days

  • Friday, April 2nd - Wednesday, April 7th

We appreciate the patience and flexibility that our district families and the entire Mayville community have shown through the COVID-19 public health emergency. None of this has been easy. We understand that accommodating a calendar change with short notice can be difficult for families, however, the vaccination of our employees is an important step in our ability to keep our students and staff safe as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the staff vaccinations, it will continue to be imperative that we all continue to focus on daily screening procedures and following recommended COVID precautions - wearing face coverings, practicing physical distancing, avoiding large group gatherings, and frequent hand washing.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school leadership with any questions. Stay well!
