Special Education
The Special Education Department at Mayville High School works with students who have been identified as having a disability as it relates to the educational environment. Teachers and Educational Assistants work to bridge the educational gap, practice self-advocacy and social skills, provide community experiences, and teach life skills for independence.
Learning is supported through accommodations and modifications that are provided in both the general education and special education settings through in-class support, one-on-one and small group instruction, assistive technology, and other services developed in the Individualized Education Plan.
At the high school level, there is a focus on inclusion, which provides students access to the general education classes and the opportunity to learn alongside their peers. The high school experience prepares students for transitioning into the workforce or post-secondary education.
