Physical Education

The Physical Education Department has many options for students at Mayville Jr/Sr High School!

In addition to our standard class offerings, we also offer innovative physical education courses including our Exploring Active Lifestyles course, which offers 11th and 12th grade students the opportunity to go off-campus and partake in activities such as canoeing on the Rock River, trap shooting at the Mayville Gun Club, archery at the Horicon Bowman's Club, golf at the Mayville Golf Course, self defense with Link's Martial Arts, bowling at Cardinal Lanes, and biking on the Gold Star Trail.

In our Get Fit classes, we use state-of-the-art fitness equipment in our fitness center with an emphasis on using a complex-sets weight training program as a guide to challenge students. This program has been adopted by all of our Physical Education classes and our high school sports teams. In our Lifetime Classes and Intro to Physical Education classes, students are taught a variety of team and individual activities and skills.

Sportsmanship and cooperation are stressed while participating in all of our Physical Education Classes. It is our belief that students understand the importance of being able to incorporate some type of physical activity into their current and future lifestyle.

Required course: Introduction to Physical Education (1/2 credit), which must be completed in 9th or 10th grade. An additional credit of PE is required for graduation.

Check out our Course Catalog on our High School Counseling webpage for additional details about these and other offerings.
