Physical Education

The Physical Education Department has many options for students at Mayville Jr/Sr High School, including our popular Exploring Active Lifestyles course, which offers 11th and 12th grade students the opportunity to go off campus to partake in activities such as Canoeing on the Rock River, Trap Shooting at the Mayville Gun Club, Archery at the Horicon Bowman's Club, Golf at our Local golf course, Self defense with Link's Martial Arts, and Bowling at Dan's Kingpin. We have also biked on the Gold Star Bike and Walking Trail. In our “Get Fit” classes, we use fitness equipment with an emphasis on using a complex- sets weight training program as a guide to challenge students. This program has been adopted by all of our Physical Education classes and our high school sports teams. In our Lifetime Classes and Intro to Physical Education classes, students are taught a variety of team and individual activities.

Sportsmanship and cooperation are stressed while participating in all of our Physical Education Classes. It is our belief that students understand the importance of being able to incorporate some type of physical activity into their current and future lifestyle.

Required course: Introduction to Physical Education (1/2 credit), which must be completed in 9th or 10th grade. An additional 1 credit of PE courses is required for graduation.
