The High School’s addition and renovation project is the largest component of the referendum work that was approved in April 2017. For the past nine months, the District and its design partners have been hard at work developing a design that meets that needs of the students, staff, and community.
The final design will be complete in early 2018 and will include the key elements listed below.
Key Elements:
- Renovate current band and choir rooms into new main office with secure entrance
- Renovate current technology education (shop) and agriculture spaces into band, choir, and show choir classrooms/rehearsal spaces
- Upgrade existing auditorium seating, interior finishes, lighting and rigging, sound system, over all accessibility and replacing spiral staircase
- Renovate current office into student services (guidance/counseling), bathrooms, and concessions to serve the gym and auditorium, and a special education life skills/food science classroom
- Renovate current storage room and offices to create a combination of larger classrooms and Small Group Instruction spaces
- Create a new technology education (shop) for woods, metals, automotive, and manufacturing instruction
- Build a new innovation center for Science Technology Engineering Art/Agriculture Math (STEAM) instruction, including a conference room, adjacent breakout space, and computer lab
- New agriculture classroom, lab, and greenhouse
- New physical education space for weights and cardio
- Renovate science labs and support spaces
- Renovate locker rooms, including a trainer’s room and support space
- Repair/replace damaged parking lot/asphalt, improving vehicle traffic on the site
- Repair building exterior such as tuckpointing, roofing, etc. and adding ladders to safely access the roof
- Replace/upgrade exterior windows and doors
- Upgrade security including, door monitoring, classroom security, and cameras
- Upgrade/replace plumbing, heating/ventilation, and electrical systems
